Nokia s40 users : How To Activate Your Email Service On Your Java Phones

Are you using a Nokia series40 phone (Nokia 2700 and its mates) ? Do you have problem in activating your Email messages, to send and to receive? Are you tired of going to cafe to check your mailbox? Here comes the simple trick you can just use to activate the Email message, for you to be sending and to receive Email messages on your Nokia Java phone.

In one of my earlier post, I discussed with you  on how you can upgrade your phone to work like a Symbian phone . Today, I shall be discussing with you how you can send/receive Email messages on your Express music phone or all Nokia S40 phones. All you need is just to get a data bundle or MB on the Sim card you inserted in the phone and a valid Email address (e.g. forexample@yahoo.com).

STEP 1: Open the message menu, and click on the Email message. it should display:  "do you have an Email you want to use on your phone?". Click on the NO button and then connect.

STEP 2: You will be directed to a native browser where you would find A Nokia Mail application form. Click on the "sign up now"  then enter your preferred name you want to use (e.g. forexample@nokiamail.com). Just enter “for example” only, i.e. you won’t include “@nokiamail.com”. Then, click on “next” button.

STEP 3: Create a password of at least 6 characters (e.g. 1234567), then click on the next button.

            Your Email address now becomes – forexample@nokiamail.com

            While your password becomes – 1234567

STEP 4: Enter your date of birth correctly and click next, it will now take you to where you can enter a captcha code, enter the code correctly and click next. Then select "next"  to set up your mailbox. After that, then click on “connect to mailbox”.

            CONGRATS, your mailbox is ready. The question now is “how will I input my desired Email address?”

STEP 5: Go to message settings in the message menu and locate Email messages. Scroll down and click on “edit mailboxes” and select, select the “edit the Ovi-mail” and input:

1.      Email address --- Edit the Email and enter your desired Email address (e.g. my Email address is akinbolailyas@yahoo.com)

2.      Login information ---

·         Change the “IMP4 username” to your Email address (akinbolailyas@yahoo.com).

·         Change the IMAP password to your Email login password (*******).

3.      Download settings --- Leave this as it must be set to :

·         Retrieval mode: Headers only.

·         Retrieval mode: 30

·         Mailbox upd. Interval: OFF, you can change if you like.

·         Automatic retrieval: NO, you can change if you like.

4.      Outgoing sett. (SMTP) ---

·         SMTP username: Change this to your Email address.

·         SMTP password: Input your Email password correctly, and verify.

5.      Disp. term. Window --- Leave it as it must be set to NO.

Now go back to the Ovi-mail and connect. You would find out that it is ready for use. You have just created Email in your Nokia phone. IS THIS HELPFUL????
