I WAS A VICTIM!! DON'T BE A VICTIM TOO!!!
Who knows "rsb@worldspace.link"?
On Monday, 20th of July, I was chatting on my Facebook messenger when one of my old friends that we've had chat a long time ago sent me a message. The message goes thus:
"Pls vote for a friend.
Pls vote for me if the participation of the West Africa beauty..
. bla bla bla."
There was a link which she sent for me to open, so that I would be able to vote her. (I didn't screenshot that cuz I didn't suspect any crime). Immediately that I opened the link, the link page asked me to LOG IN WITH MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT,which I did. I found nothing displayed on the link.
Then I decided to get back to her that the link she sent was not opening. I got no reply (as it is seen in SCREENSHOT3). I felt less bothered coz she needed my help, yet didn't reply.
The following day around 12pm, I got a mail in my email ( since it's set to synchronise every 2hours) that "my primary email used for my Facebook changed from akinbolailyas@yahoo.com to rsb@worldspace.link". The email is the SCREENSHOT1. I didn't take immediate step because I was in front of someone who could've given me a slap if I had pressed my phone. After like 30minutes, I've even forgotten that a mail entered, I just wanted to check new notifications at Facebook when it was telling me a "log in error". What? An account of 10years+ with pages of huge likes inside! I felt so nervous.
At that moment, the mail now came across my mind, so I opened and read well. Then I begin to take adequate steps. Had it been I didn't have a valid email, or the email was not connected to the server at that moment? It meant my account was gone!
I followed the link in the email and it took me to where I can answer my security questions which I provided at the time of registering the account. And... Since I always have whatever details I use (either in head or written), I provided the answer correctly and I was asked to change my password. Had it been I couldn't provide the answer correctly?
After that I changed it, I got a notification that I would only be able to log in with my new password in 23hrs 56mins time. That was how I retrieved my account. I logged in successfully with my new password and found that she has deleted the message (SCREENSHOT2)
I know it was not that my friend that did this. Her account was also hacked and being used to hack someone else's account.
Why can't you just share this information (using the share buttons below) to save an account.
