Here comes a simple Facebook trick you can use to hide a specific chat you don't want anyone to see - Only you can view it. Be rest assured, this trick will not even temporarily delete your chats with the person (let alone permanently). If you're using Facebook Messenger, follow these steps :
Step 1 >>> After a successful log in to your Facebook messenger, scroll to the chat you want to hide. Then, press and hold until a new window pops up

You've just hidden your conversation with someone from your friend.
