He was amazed and said to me; I have always formatted my articles well and keep for a good length of not less than 1000 words but yet I never see my articles on search even for two weeks. This is possible even when you generate your sitemap and submitted to Google but today I will help your situation.

How to Index your post on Google Search within 3 minutes of publishing?

I will put this in simple steps and heading formats. I recently interviewed GT Igwe for him to reveal his untold SEO secrets which gave me more insight of SEO. So follow this guide to put your articles on search engines quickly.

1. Generate your URL sitemap

Every blog has a sitemap that can be generated. You can either use an online tool to generate the sitemap (usually yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml). You can type that in your address bar to see if it brings your RSS.

2. Submit Sitemap to Google

Login to your search console webmaster account and head on to add sitemap if you have not done that.
Click "test" before submitting. If you have done this step move on to the other step below. Now, this is what you will be doing most times when you publish new articles on your blog.

Do you want more search traffic to your blog? Why not submit your blog's sitemap to Bing and Yandex webmasters tool. This has helped me pull thousands of visitors ever since I did.

3. Submit your URL to Google Notice Me page

You need to submit your new post URL to google in order to inform them of the new change or development on your blog:

  • Go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url
  • Sign in with your Google account
  • Paste the URL
  • Prove you are not a robot by entering recaptcha
  • Hit submit.

4. Ping your New post to search engines and directories

Another great work you are going to do here is to ping your articles to search directories and search engines. We are going to use Pingomatic to perform the task:

  • Go to pingomatic.com
  • Enter blog title
  • Paste the URL of your new post
  • Click "select all" to select all directories
  • Hit "Send pings".

And Finally;

5. Fetch as Google

This is another great way to index your posts easily. This is very simple as other steps but with advances steps.

  • Go to search console>>>Crawl>>>Fetch as Google
  • Enter the URL (note: submit only the post link excluding your domain {i.e domain.com/this-review will be submitted as this-review instead of the other}
  • Hit fetch.
After completing these steps, wait for 5 minutes then go back to google.com and search for the keywords and see the miracle.

These are the primary guides to off page SEO by Prosper Noah. Common Reasons Your Content don't get index by Search Engines. They could be reasons why your content was not index after following these steps. This is listed below.

1. Poor Content - If your content isn't up to google standard they won't be indexed. They either may have been copied and pasted which google may have detected or bad English that could not be understood by Google. I recommend you install Grammarly Premium on your computer for easy editing.

2. Wrong Keywords or Keyword stuffing - Don't over surf for keywords but rather let it be in a good range that would not be penalized by Google Panda and Penguin.

3. Sitemap & Robots - If your sitemap is not submitted properly, Google bots won't be able to crawl your site, check to make sure they are in good standard.
Hope you enjoy indexing your post on Google? enjoy Now your turn, let me hear it from your comments.

7 Simplest Ways To Reduce Blog's Bounce Rate

Do you want to reduce your blog's bounce rate? I bet this is one of the best pieces you can confide in, that will reduce the rate at which readers leave immediately they land on your blog.

If you have been struggling with traffic issues and finding it hard to get loyal and consistent readers on the blog,  that may be as a result of your blog has a high bounce rate.

What is a bounce rate?

Bounce rate can be calculated as the percentage of time that users spend on your blog till they close the tab.

The thing is,  when a user visits a page on your blog and leaves without even getting to view or click on other pages on your blog,  it is termed as "bounce."

A high bounce rate could be a sign that your readers no longer find your posts interesting,  your site design is crappy, your blog takes a longer time to load, or you do not have an enticing landing page.

In this post, we are going to be looking at some of the main reasons why your blog bounce rate is high and possible ways of reducing them.

What are some of those things that affect your Blog's bounce rate?

  • Your Blog takes longer time to load

This is one of the reasons why you have a high bounce rate.

Site speed is among the Google's 200 Ranking factors and has a great impact on your blog SEO.

There are a lot of sites and competitors out there who blog in the same niche as yours. In fact, many sites have comprehensive articles than your blog.

So,  if users find it hard to access your blog because it takes a longer time to load, they would be forced to resort to other blogs who would still give them what they want.

  • Your Blog posts are Crappy

One of the main reasons why people would want to visit your page is because they are looking for solutions to a particular problem they need to solve

They need more information to what they are looking for.

If readers land on your blog and can't find anything useful or possibly find it out to read your articles because your blog posts are not well arranged and too choked up,  they would have no option than to leave.

  • Your Blog Design sucks

Your Blog design is one of those things that affect your bounce rate too.

Tess Hermann once said, and I quote: 'if you do it right,  it will last forever. '

The logic is simple, if your blog design is appealing,  you would not be worrying about your Blog's bounce rate.

  • Your Internal linking strategy sucks

Internal linking is one of those On page SEO strategies that determine how well you rank on search engines.

When you write on a particular topic, always link to other posts or websites which are relevant to that which you are writing about.

This would increase the time spent on your Blog and reduce your Blog's high bounce rate.

  • Blank page

If you have a high bounce rate, this might be as a result of your blog having or experiencing technical errors of which users get pissed off easily.

Fix all internal,  syntax errors,  bad links and ensure your Blog is error free.

How can you do this?

You can make use of Google search console to check all kinds of errors you are having with your blog.

  • Misleading or none-catchy title

There is different between giving misleading titles to your blog posts and not using catchy titles. Either way, the two are bad and have a great effect on your blog's bounce rate.

You cannot expect me to stay glued to your blog when I click on a link only to realize you tricked me. Always give correct titles to your blog posts and make sure it is also catchy enough to draw readers' attention.

There are a lot of free bounce rate checker tools on the internet

Example of such tools include

 Benefits of Building Backlinks

You have been told by many SEO experts that you should build backlinks. Do you even know why you it is always emphasized? Well, here are some benefits that you derive from building high-quality backlinks:

Boosts Google ranking

If a particular post or page on your blog is linked to from another website, the page (or post) tends to rank higher on Search engines.

Always do well to build quality backlinks as it boosts your ranking and draws quality traffic to your blog

Organic Traffic

One good thing about generating quality backlinks for your blog is that it gives you quality traffic.  If you are one of those that are new to blogging and are faced with low traffic issues, I suggest you go start building quality backlinks for your blog.

Faster and Quicker Indexing

Just like I earlier said, when you build quality backlinks to your blog, you make your blog visible on Search engines and boosts your ranking.
When you have a lot of different websites linking to your site, it makes it easy for Google bots to crawl your site effectively.

Things to consider when building backlinks

Before you go ahead to build quality backlinks to your blog,  here are some of the things to consider

Blog's design - Ensure you have a cool design on your blog. What's the essence of you linking your blog from other websites when your website sucks? No one would like to stay for long on your blog if it is not catchy and appealing to the eyes.  They would exit at the very moment they land on your page. And this will result in a high bounce rate.
Work on your blog design or probably hire a web designer to do that for you so you do not stand a chance to lose your potential readers.

Blog Niche - If you wish to generate backlinks to your blog,  always do so from other websites that are far more better than you and are of higher authority/rank also on the same niche. It is of no use linking to your blog from an 'Entertainment' niche when you are on a 'Tutorial' niche.

Linking to sites with bad or poor reputation

Never link to a site that is full of spams or are filled with duplicate contents. It is of no use, and you might end up being penalized by Google for that. Always link to sites that are of good reputation and are not of low quality

Writing For Search Engines That Also Goes Well With Readers

Bloggers can testify that it's not always easy to come up with a single line of words, talk more of trying to write an article for search engines that also goes well with your readers.

Search engine optimization (known as SEO) has always been a hard nut to crack, you always have to be on your toes to adjust to any changes in Algorithm from your targeted Search engine. Because sometimes, when you feel you're on top; that is when you get knocked out. SEO is a continuous practice because the best can be overthrown whenever the algorithm changes.

This post will certainly focus on Google because it's the most-used search engine. Nowadays, all we do is write articles for search engines forgetting the main reason you're even writing for search engine is to get those
the user, who click on your link among the search results.

I know search engine demands a lot of optimization, but the good thing is that you can optimize a particular post or page to rank high and also serve it purpose to your readers. Why do you think all top authority blog and pros remain at the top of search engine result pages for a particular post without coming down for long?

I will tell you and also teach how to write for search engine and readers at the same time to rank high on search engines. When a post is well optimized for search engines as well as for readers, it stays longer on Search engine result page because readers spend time on the post before leaving. This will also tell in your blog's bounce rate. This is how Google knows that the post is helpful and meaningful and will rank that post or page high for long.

But if your article is only written for search engine and it eventually ranks high, it won't last at the top before it drops down due to how high your bounce rate is. The information that users are looking for is not there just because you're busy optimizing for search engines and forgetting your readers.

What Do I Mean By Writing for Search Engine?

Before showing you the main game, let us take a look at what I mean by "writing for search engines."

  • Quality Post
  • Keyword
  • Interlinking
  • Image-Optimization
  • Videos to further explain
  • Url Optimization
  • Title Optimization
  • The H2 tag usage

Before you move on, take a look at this detailed guide to writing high-quality blog posts.

To rank high, no doubt, you need to learn and always apply those listed acts and techniques which are all on every ON-PAGE Seo tutorials you read.

In this post, we are not only talking about search engine ranking. We are also talking about sustaining your readers and also rank high on search engines, which has been neglected and nobody is telling you about that anymore.

What's the use of optimizing a page to rank high in a search engine when you can't keep the readers and turn them into returning and faithful readers? No use right? Then, there is a way to write for your readers and also rank high on search engines.

Are you still wondering the difference between writing for search engine and writing for readers? t
There is a huge difference which I have explained earlier. Don't bother yourself too much, as you read on you'll get to understand.

Title

Seriously, your post title has a lot to do with your ranking and it also tells if readers will click to read it or not. In short, a good and catchy title has 85% power to drag readers to read the post.

How do you balance this?

1. Craft a good eye catchy title for readers (Read: 5 Incredible Ways to Start Writing Blog Post Headlines For Maximum Optimization)

2. Make use of relevant keywords in your title for SEO

3. Use short and precise titles lengthy enough for SEO

For example, "Top 10 Upcoming bloggers in Nigeria 2017" has the potential of ranking higher than "Top 10 new bloggers we have in Nigeria as of 2017."

Quality lengthy article

Pros will always tell you to write lengthy posts which are always good for SEO. With this in the minds of many newbies, you'll see an article where the author is only trying to make it lengthy depriving it of the main message.

Readers will spend more time to read an article without getting the message. Most newbies are guilty of this.

To keep users reading and to keep your post lengthy for Search engines, tell related stories, and not off-point stories. Define the various angles and terms you think it's necessary for them to know and don't forget to hit the nail directly.

Meanwhile, if the article does not demand that like a tutorial and others, simply hit the nail on the head.

Interlinking

Inter-linking is another technique for Seo. Don't only do this for Seo alone, but do it because interlinking can help your readers navigate to hundreds of other articles in your blog.

Interlinking within your posts also help Google to crawl your blog post easily and increase your search ranking.
"Keyword" is one of the relevant Seo techniques also, for you to rank high on search engine. But gone are the days when keyword stuffing was the real deal. Like I told you, search engine algorithm are always tweaked to suit their owners.

keyword stuffing no longer works, and in fact, putting keywords unnecessarily in a post will look like a black hat SEO strategy to most search engines.

Overdoing it will also irritate your readers and send them away because you will end up not delivering your message which they're on your blog for.

To rank high and keep your readers, you must balance the equation - put keywords where necessary.

Boring Write-ups

Don't be that boring writer that bores off readers away from his blog. Make your readers come back for more. How do you do this?

Bring out the humor in you. Write your blog post like you're telling a story. Write in a way that your readers would want to read the whole content. Arrange your headings and subheadings. Make your paragraphs concise enough and be meaningful.

Make your readers smile while reading a tutorial, or a regular blog post.

Image and Video Optimization

Image and video optimization is the newly discovered Seo bomb.  Thanks to the pros who always discover and share any latest SEO trick that is working for them or should I rather thank Google for revealing any changes to their algorithm?

Either of the way, image and video optimization helps a lot to boost search engine ranking. Most time, users prefer video tutorials to reading texts. Thanks to Youtube and other videos viewing and sharing channels.

Like the saying goes, pictures speak a thousand words. It does not just end at uploading pictures, you must tell search engine about the pictures since crawl bot does not see pictures,

How do you do this?

You should simply use the Alt tag. I discuss few image optimisation earlier in this post. Even though pictures speak more a reader needs more text on a page not just pictures and less text, infographics work a big deal, but not at all the time.

In other not to favor Mr. A (Search engine) and deprive Mr. B (your readers), don't just upload image not related to what you're telling them,

In conclusion...

Writing for search engines is not always the real deal if your readers don't find it appealing. You need to put your readers into consideration when you are writing or search engines.

With the above tips adhered to, you will not only rank high, but you will also get those visitors coming back because you are writing for search engines while putting your readers into consideration. This way, your post will stay on top of search engine results for a long time.

6 Types Of Images You Should Start Using In Your Blog Posts

You know why I like to talk about blog post images?

Because they interpret a thousand words! Simple as that. And I've also read a lot about blog post images and its usefulness.

After I had talked about the 4 Ways Blog Post Images Reduce My Bounce Rate by 50%, people started to ask me which types of images should they use in their blog posts.

And here you are, with the 6 different types of images you should start using in your posts.

Hey, why is image important in blog posts?

Glad you liked to ask that question. There are several reasons to which images are relevant in your blog posts. Some of the reasons are that:

  • Images catch the readers' eyes and commit them to reading the content

  • Images help craft a visually memorable experience

  • Images give more explanations to a context.

  • You gain more social media shares

  • More search engine traffic from images

  • Increases length of posts

I believe you're satisfied enough. Then, back to our topic:

Types of images to use in blog posts.

Honestly, the types of images you should use in your blog post depends on and varies. I did a little research and found the top 6 types of images you should be using, no matter the niche you write on.

Don't get it wrong: I did not say you must use all the 6 types in a single post, or that you must not use; but you can start using any type that is best for a particular post.

#1. Stock or Royalty-free images

These are photographs of places, people, nature, animals, events (etc.) that are shot by professional and may be sold to stock image companies.

When I began to learn the usefulness of images in blog posts, this type used to be my favorite. I would go to stock image websites and search for images that are relevant to my content.

You can get free stock photos on websites like

The best usage of stock images in your blog post is by downloading images with no watermark and then, editing them with photo editing software to match the content which you're using them for.

I will update you on the best ways to use stock images for your blog posts later. So, subscribe here if you don't want to miss out.

#2. Screenshots

Screenshots are one of the best images to explain a context further. They also serve as proofs.

Thank God for technology! Screens can be shot on electronic gadgets like computers and smartphones.

When you shot a screen, import it into a photo editing software and design to taste.

Here are some of the tools you can use to shot your screens:

#3. Hand drawn images

Hand drawn images could have many meanings. As it is used in this context, hand drawn images are the images you designed by yourself using a graphics software.

Seen a kind of image like this?

That's an example!

Using hand drawn images in your blog post makes your post (and your blog) looks more professional to your readers.

To create hand drawn images for your blog posts may seem very tasking for a beginner. But learning and practicing will make you better.

#4. Infographics

An information graphic is a visual representation of information in graphical formats to make the data easily readable and understandable at a glance. That makes it look like a picture.

Take a look at the infographic at the end of this post.

Mere looking at the infographic already summarize the whole post.

An excellent infographic enhances readers' understanding by breaking down complex information into digestible, visual chunks. It makes it easier to explain complex data, fact, and figure through visual form.

#5. Visual quotes

These are great images too that enhance your blog post.

If you are a type who use quotes on blog posts, it would be an excellent idea if you can transform these quotes into pictures.

Who gave me this idea?
A top blogger who make use of the visual quote in his blog posts. His quotes always get stuck in my head anytime I read one.

Your readers might even go further to saving your quote in their device for reference. Thereby, making your quote more memorable and accessible (as they share your visual quotes)

Visual quote designs do not necessarily need to be greatly developed. Only the words in the quotes matter a lot.

#6. Charts and graphs

You're comparing about two or more different things? Why not using a chart or graph to make your comparison more digestible?

Charts are most useful for packaging complex information into a simple and easy to use format for comparisons and for discerning trends in a dataset.

For example, anyone that sees the chart below will understand the message that the user is trying to pass.

Did you imagine how many sentences the user needs to use if he must write the chart above in text?

Yeah! That's how great charts and graphs are.

Conclusion:

Using different types of images in your blog posts is very necessary as it can also reduce your bounce rate. Be very cautious about images when you use them in your blog posts.

It is right to use pictures, but when you don't use it properly make it a wrong thing.

When you upload your pictures, make sure the file size if each image is very small. Remember; the larger the file size of images on your blog, the slower your page load.

You cannot launch a blog today and be 100% well optimized for search engines. You have to build your SEO from somewhere. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day. This is why I've made my mind to share with you, these 5 Simplest SEO practices for your blogger blog post.

In case you don't know what SEO means, we are going to quickly take a shallow look at the meaning of SEO and its importance on blog posts.

What is SEO?

Meaning of seo

SEO simply stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is the process and strategy you apply that gives you natural visitors from search engines (known as organic traffic).

When a user searches for a keyword on search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, ask, etc., thousands of results are brought to him based on what the search engine consider as the most relevant to him. When he now clicks on a link that takes him to your website (for instance), you have organic traffic. This is the work of search engine optimization.

In other words, SEO is the methods you apply that make your blog appear on the first page of search engines as relevant to particular keywords by users. I believe you understand what SEO means now, let us check the central importance of SEO

Importance of SEO

The main reason why many people are focused on SEO is to get much traffic by appearing first when a user searches for a keyword on search engines.

Now, let's dive into our topic - The simplest SEO practices for blogger blog posts...

Simplest SEO practice #1 - Post Titles(Headlines).

It is no news that your title is what readers see at the beginning of your post, and it is a very essential part of the whole post. Without the title, your readers might not understand what you are giving them to read.

The best part of a post title is when it conveys and summarizes (at times) the content of the post. So, it needs adequate reasoning before you write your post title.

Here's how:

Before you give your content a title, always make sure you do a little research about it. I mean, do keyword research using tools like Google Keyword Planner or Moz Keyword Explorer to get the best keywords for your title (and the content too).

Then, use search engines to find out what other titles are other bloggers using. While doing this, you need to focus on 2 things:

  • In case you don't use keyword research tool - the top relevant results you see means that the keywords used in the titles are ranking well. You should note this.

  • Make sure your intended title is not matching any title you find in the results. You can view 2 more pages to be sure of this.

After this, come back to your post page and style your title with catchy words. Don't know how to do this? Read >> 5 Incredible Ways to Start Writing Blog Post Headlines For Maximum Optimization

Simplest SEO practice #2 - Post URL

What "url" stands for

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. It's an identity to a web page. Different pages on the Internet have their URL. In this case, you need to optimize your URL well.

Many bloggers give little regards to custom permalinks. They don't always bother to edit the default permalink, and this makes their targeted keywords be ignored (in some cases).

On search engines, URL is also an essential part that can rank you high. It must contain your keywords and must be precise. It must not be too lengthy because Google will automatically shorten it to 40 characters on some browsers.

So, the best practice about this is that you should edit the default permalink and include your targeted keywords in the custom link.

To edit your default permalink, click on the"links" tab located on the right side of your post page. Then, click on custom permalink and edit. Remember to use dashes (-) to separate your link words.

Simplest SEO practice #3 - Post Search Description

Ever since I knew this, I have never tried to overlook the post description for once. As the name implies, it gives the readers and especially, the search engines brief description about your post. So, when someone searches for keywords that match your post description, your post might appear to him first.

Take a look at this post that I wanted to share on Facebook:

The description is clearly shown, isn't it? Look at the one on Google search result too:

Post description should always be written for maximum optimization. Don't feel too lazy to write few lines that include your targeted keywords in your post description.

To add a search description for your blogger posts, click on the "search description" tab under the "Post settings" on your post page. Then, enter your text and click on the "save" button.

Simplest SEO practice #4 - Post Images

Post images are also relevant things to use, to maximize your SEO. You have heard that post images help reduce bounce rate, but if optimized well, can also increase your SEO.

Have you ever wondered why you search for a keyword on Google, and it brings you the most relevant images to the keywords you searched? It is simply because the pictures are well optimized. And this means more traffic for the blogs that these images are used.

How can you optimize your post images?

  • Before you add your images to the blog post, make sure that each of the images is saved with texts related the images (or your post content). This will make your images appear as relevant on Google's first page.

  • After you successfully added your images to your post, click on each of theses images and edit the "properties" of each image.

  • Title Text - Include your targeted keyword in your image title.

  • Alt Text - This is the alternative text that will be shown if the image cannot load for any reason (for example, network). You can also use part of your keyword on this tab too.

Simplest SEO practice #5 - Post internal linking

Internal linking is when you include links that go from a blog page to another page of the same blog.

For example, Top 7 Reasons Why People Don't Comment On Your Blog Posts And How To Fix Them is a practice of internal linking because it takes you to another page of this blog.

Internal linking is also one of the simplest SEO practices you can start to practice. Internal links allow your readers to navigate your blog with ease, and this reduces your bounce rate too.

The SEO practice about internal linking is when you link related posts together. When a user searches for a keyword, internal linking can make your blog posts appear more than once on a page (and even, consecutively). This is an example below:

Bottom line:

You don't need to become an expert before you start practicing SEO. Start from these simplest SEO strategies for blogger blog posts, and as time goes on, you will learn the advanced parts of SEO.

Keep learning!
